Lite version

My blog is on a diet today, so there won't be much to this post, but I wanted to share a little with you since it is Friday. I am on a very important mission...one of my granddaughters is beginning her journey into teenagedom as we celebrate her 13th birthday today. Happy Birthday my precious girl!!! A few days ago, she requested I knit her a sweater, not for her birthday, but just because. As a grandmother and a knitter, it brought tears to my eyes I tell ya! So, I present to you (unblocked of course), my granddaughter's sweater. The pattern is called Bellambie by Berroco Design Team (Norah Gaughan and Cerilia Rose). I'm using the yarn the pattern calls for which is Origami. The sweater is an openwork bodice knit from side to side, with the skirt portion worked in the round in stockinette. The Origami is worsted weight and is acrylic, linen, nylon, and cotton, and has wonderful drape to it. This will be a wonderful summetime top for her and as fall approaches, we will look at some other patterns for a winter sweater. I'm about halfway done with the bodice back, am loving it so far, and hope to have this finished FAST...just because I'm so excited she even asked me!!! :=)

When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday, all I could get out of her was a name....Justin Bieber. Keeping that in mind, I'm off to fulfill some birthday wishes fit for a princess!!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!
