I had a revelation

With it being New Year's Eve, I'm spending a quiet morning alone with some coffee (Scooter is at the firing range), and just thinking about the year that is about to be behind us. Like most people, I had some ups and downs, mostly ups, and the downs are bound to happen, because that is just the way life is. It is full of twists and turns. I'm thinking about how I could've handled them differently though, and not how someone else thinks I should have reacted. So, in 2011, I will be making even more changes in my life. I'm going to take more responsibility and accept that life isn't perfect, it never will be for any of us, but I will look past the imperfections. I will accept who I am, the good and the bad, and make those changes as I see fit, not because I think someone else thinks I should be different. I will no longer allow others to make me feel less of a person, just because I don't fit their idea of who I should be. I am a whole package of my own ideas and beliefs and people can either accept me, or walk away.

I'm not sure who said it, and if I knew, I would certainly give them credit. This pretty much sums it up for me:
There comes a time in your life when you realize who will always matter, who does matter and who never did matter. So don't worry about people from your past. There is a reason they didn't make it to your future.

I finally got my Coin Lace Scarf , a free pattern at elann.com (you have to register), completely frogged last night. I recast on for it, but didn't get as far as I wanted to before I got too tired. I'm okay with that since I have no real deadline for it.
Besides mine and Scooter's wedding anniversary, New Year's day is one of my very favorite days! I love that it's a brand new start, a fresh beginning. It is a day of happiness for me. I hope that the new year brings y'all peace and happiness as well, the comfort of love and laughter in your life, renewed goals that make your hopes and dreams come true, with friends and loved ones to share them with. God bless you all and Happy New Year!!!

  1. Happy New Year! That scarf sounds like it will be pretty, but my first thought on that picture was, oh, it's a bikini top. (No, I don't know why.) But may 2011 bring you happiness, comfort, and just enough adventure to make it fun!

  2. Thank you, Cat!! That scarf pattern is really pretty. It's similar to the clapotis in that it is worked on the bias, but it has a more interesting lace pattern in it. I love it! LOL bikini top...no, actually, for some reason the picture turned itself on its side.
Hope you have a great year!!!
