In the interim

About six rows away from finishing my Kudzu shawlette, I realized I probably wasn't going to have enough yarn to finish it. Panic set in because I knew that the color is being discontinued at Knit Picks, so I immediately got online and ordered two more skeins of the Stroll Sport in the colorway Pageant. I'm not sure what happened as I got gauge and according to Knit Picks, there are 137 yds on each skein, which should've given me more than enough to knit the larger version. Since I will now have to wait for my order to arrive, I decided to work up some more preemie beanies for my local hospital's NICU. These are so quick and take hardly any yarn..I'm using sock yarn scraps I have in my stash. They are so tiny and adorable!  I worked this one up yesterday while getting my hair done, and only had to weave in two ends this morning. I have an entire plastic bin full of Claudia's Handpainted sock yarn mill ends (thank you, Rita!) that I will take another dive into for some girly colors next.

I will also take another look at some WIPs I've got in my lineup and perhaps do some re-evaluating. I'm pretty sure I want to revisit my Sausalito cardigan next. This should be a fun piece to add to my Fall wardrobe, and since I only have the left front and the sleeves to knit, it shouldn't take me too long to get it finished. Then I can return to my Oregon vest by Alice Starmore!

Have I ever mentioned how passionate I am about knitting and crocheting?
