I frogged and restarted my Bad Oyster Scarf. The increases are done a bit different in this pattern and the potential for them to be looser than normal is there. I didn't care for it, so I started over in hopes of snugging them up a bit.
I have nearly filled up one bobbin for maybe the Knitmore Girls SPAKAL project. Not sure yet. While I have two pounds of fiber, which is more than enough for a sweater I think, I'm not sure I'm liking the grist so far. I thought I wanted to spin for a thicker weight, but now that I've done it, I am thinking I much prefer a thinner one. In any case, I love how 'tweedy' this is coming along, and more importantly, I love how enjoyable I find spinning!!
When Scooter got back from the gun range yesterday, we decided to have a bit of a jam session, he with his guitar, me with my uke. Neither one of us have practiced for quite a while, so it wasn't pretty, but hey, at least I found time to pick it up again. I love playing Hallelujah! I might even start my lessons back up with the same guy I took classes from last year. He's so awesome, AND, turns out, his wife is a spinner and knitter!!! Lately though, she's been more focused on quilting, which is fine with me too!
I forgot to mention last week that I got to pick up my newly tuned up and serviced sewing machine! This is the one that I lost my reverse function on, and it turned out that it was a cracked part under the bobbin casing. A $3.95 part. I think it's probably the only plastic part on the whole thing, go figure! I'm so glad I have kept my all metal gears, etc. machine. I'm just excited to have her back, and now I can't hardly wait to sew something!!
While I failed to take pictures of the wonderful dinner I made my hubby last night for Father's Day (he ate it too fast! haha), I will have to remember to share the recipe with you sometime. It's called Cold Noodle Salad, which can be deceiving, but it's a perfect summer dish. Add garlic French bread to it, a nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc, and you are ready to dine like a king!! I got the recipe many years ago from my aunt, and it's been a longtime favorite of my family ever since.
All four of Scooter's kids called him from Colorado (we live in California), to wish him a happy Father's day. It was so nice to hear from all of them!! It was the perfect day that ended with a big plate of dark chocolate homemade brownies...Scooter's favorite!
