Heed the warning!

With the start of some very warm days to come here in my part of the world, the one thing that always disturbs me is seeing a dog locked up in a parked car. It takes just minutes for your car to become deadly to that poor animal, who trusts you and depends on you to make the right decisions for it. Please! leave your pet home with some cold water in a dish, and on extremely hot days, provide it with some sort of shelter where it can get in out of the heat. I just can't stand seeing a dog being treated so inhumanely, and have oftentimes considered becoming vigilante, scoping out parking lots at area shopping centers. For obvious reasons (angry owners when confronted), I won't do that, but if I should see this happening, I will definitely call the police or animal control!

Vodka Lemonade is finally beginning to look like a real cardigan! Not that I had any doubts that it eventually wouldn't, but for a few days, it seemed like I wasn't getting much knitting time in. Not only was I a bit too tired to work on it in the evenings, but I also needed to wind another skein of yarn, and I just wasn't finding a few minutes for that even. Last night, I managed to get out the swift and ball winder, and wind up another skein. Off and running once again, and my cardi grew! I am so pleased with this pattern, and I can already tell the design is going to be very flattering and fun to wear!!

The water in our pool finally balanced itself out, and the grandkids were able to play in sparkling crystal clear water yesterday. I love hearing them play and laugh, as they chase each other in the water, or make a whirlpool and then let the water carry them around on their backs. We talked about packing a picnic lunch and going out to our local lake one day this summer, but with the two little guys, I wouldn't consider doing that without their mom (my daughter) going with us. Until that happens, we will stay in our own backyard, enjoy cookouts, complete with s'mores, and make those childhood memories with them!
