Routine is good

One of the things I really missed while we were on our trip, was sitting down in front of my spinning wheel. I can't tell you how calming and relaxing, zen if you will, spinning is for me. If I'm having a bad day, and we all have them, I know that all I have to do is sit down to my wheel, and all is right with the world again. Especially if it involves coffee too! Both re-energize and center me. As soon as we got back home, and I had everything put away, one of the first things I did was sit down and start spinning. Before I knew it, I had filled up the bobbin I was working on the week prior to leaving. Last night, I was able to begin plying two more bobbins worth. I always get so excited when I get to that point because it seems to go pretty fast, and in no time, I will have another skein of yarn. My oldest granddaughter and I are having lunch together this coming weekend, and I think I'm going to give her some handspun yarn to knit with.

When I sat down to watch some tv and talk with my husband yesterday, I picked this scarf up to knit on again. I was more than halfway done with it when I discovered a mistake, and even though it wouldn't have been that noticeable, I just couldn't let it go. It was beyond being able to drop down and repair it, since there were twisted stitches (done on purpose), etc., and it was just easier to rip back. I probably went back about 40 rows or so, maybe even more, but at least I'm happier with it now. See that panel going up the middle? That will be steeked after the knitting is done to open up the shawlette. I can't hardly wait to get to that part! This is the Bad Oyster Shawlette/Scarf, by Alex Tinsley.

I have less than half a sleeve to finish on my Vodka Lemonade, so I'm hoping to get in a good chunk of knitting time this evening. I haven't taken pics of it in a while, but I will soon.

My pups and I are back to our usual routine of going for our evening walk, and occasionally, I'll take them to the park so they can run free. They love that, but I have to do it when there isn't anybody else around. They are such people dogs and before I know it, they are out of control. We have our favorite park we go to at our home in Idaho too, and since they're both so small, it's so cute to watch them run at full speed with their little ears laying back like they're ready for takeoff.

I spent a good part of the day cleaning like a madwoman. It's amazing how your house can get so dusty, and not really dirty, but you know, floors need mopping, toilets need cleaning, etc, while you're away. I was going to spend part of the evening tonight reading my book. I'm still a few chapters ahead of everyone else in the book club I belong to, and it's no big deal even if I fall behind. We aren't that regimented. It is nice to stay up with everyone else though, so we can all discuss each chapter, and nothing is spoiled for you. Who knows? maybe I'll get in a chapter before I go to bed tonight.

I will have my two youngest grandsons for the day tomorrow (4 and 5 yrs old), and they are a bundle of energy. I think I'll bug on out of here for now, and hopefully, I'll have some knitting progress to show you soon!

Hope your week got off to a great start!!
