I have been doing daycare for those two youngest grandsons, and I can't tell you how much fun I'm having! Even "papa Chris" is enjoying having them around, and they just love him to pieces!! Even though he isn't their biological grandfather, you would never know it...he has embraced them and teaches them new things all the time. It makes my heart so happy!! Every other week, I have their two older siblings that I take back and forth to school as well. Last week, my 11 year old grandson wanted to learn how to knit. Is it any wonder??? hehehe I haven't been able to get a picture of his finished project, but he knit a coaster for his mom.
In my last post, I told you and showed you a picture of a scarf I was knitting for my brother. Well, I just wasn't happy with it...the colors of the yarn just wasn't what I was hoping for since he asked for the red and gold found in his Marine uniform. So, I went to the LYS and bought more yarn to start over with. I also switched from a DK weight to a worsted weight so it would go faster, which also, in my mind meant a different pattern. I started a couple of days ago, but since we were celebrating my birthday starting yesterday, I haven't had much of a chance to get very far on it. I have the week off next week from watching my grandchildren, so I will be able to make some good progress on it, if not even maybe finish it so I can get it off in the mail to my brother.
The weather is turning cold, and my little chihuahua seems to be very temperature sensitive. I noticed her shivering one morning and thought it was high time I knit her a sweater. She is broad chested though, so most patterns it seemed, weren't going to work for her. I finally came across a custom fit pattern that was more of a generator, where you put the measurements in, and bam!, you get the number of stitches you need for each part of the sweater. It worked perfectly, and now my little girl has a new sweater. I'm not sure how much use she will get out of it...you would think I put her in a straitjacket when I put it on her. She won't move! hahahaha She would much rather her mom snuggle her against her chest with a blanket!
I mentioned my birthday above, so I think I will do a completely separate post about it, since I have quite a few pictures to share with you. My birthday is actually this Monday (the 10th), but we are celebrating it this weekend...so far, I am overjoyed and my heart is full with all the love my family and I have for each other. I am truly blessed!!
I hope you all have been well, and are enjoying the fall season!
