The party's over

When we had dinner with my sister and brother-in-law this past Saturday, her and I always choose a nice restaurant, since her birthday is just four days after mine, two years apart of course. We bring each other presents and I showed you in a previous post the fingerless mitts I knit for her, called Cafe au Lait Mitts. She loved them, but she was also very surprised by the other gift I made her. I have learned how to do wire wrapping, and love it! You can wire wrap just about any object and for her pendant, I chose a piece of Montana Agate that my husband brought back last year from Montana, and polished up for me. I have to say, it was beautiful!!! I almost wished I had kept it for myself, but seeing the happiness it brought my sister, I'm glad I gave it to her.

I went and bought her a sterling silver chain for it, and it fit her perfect! I think I know what several people in my circle are getting for Christmas!

I managed to get some knitting in on my brother's scarf last night and this morning. It's good to finally see I am making some headway. I can't wait to finish this scarf and get it sent off. It seems like forever since I've been able to do any knitting for me!!!

I was bound and determined to allow myself some spinning time this morning also. It felt so good and all was right with the world..or is that whorled (lol) again. I have started my second bobbin of the alpaca roving I've already spun a bobbin's worth of, and more than likely, I will two ply it. I forgot what a pain in the rear spinning this stuff is! The fiber is buttery soft, but having to stop every 3-4 inches and pick out VM is aggravating!! I can hardly wait to finish with this stuff...I'm yearning for some BFL in a big way!

Even though my sweetie couldn't be with me for my actual birthday, he made it special by having flowers brought to me!! That man knows my tastes so well...while roses are nice, I love variety...a vase full of calla lilies tipped in pink are another one of my favorites!!! I love this arrangement and the vase itself is so me..haha He also spoiled me with a new iPod Touch and I'm just blown away by everything that gadget can do, but most of all, I'm thankful for my husband, my friend, my everything...

    1. Thank you!!! I just taught myself how to wire wrap a few weeks ago...it's really fun to do and to hunt down things now to wrap. I love the unique-ness of it and having different pieces to wear!
