I'm almost finished with my Mystery Socks, and while I have until the end of the month to submit a picture of them for the contest, I want to get them done so I can wear them. They are so squishy soft and feel so good on my feet!!
After our company left last night, I needed something super easy, but fun and cute to work on until I caught my breath. Whenever that happens, I usually think of something for charity, which is exactly what I chose to do. While the house was still quiet yesterday morning, I took the opportunity while sipping my morning coffee to take a quick peek at Ravelry. I found the cutest crochet pattern for a scarf! It was perfect to use up some of my acrylic stash, and light enough to be worn by the recipient who lives in a warmer climate. Should the need arise, in case of a surprise temperature change, I made it long enough to where it could be doubled around the neck for a little more warmth. It was hard to capture the true color of this yarn, but it's more of a minty green from Bernat Satin. I hate the yarn, but what can I say? it was in the acrylic bin my mom donated to me, that I'm trying to empty. I will definitely be making more of these... I love it and they are so fast to work up!
I hope y'all have a great week!
Sounds like you had a good weekend, so where are your stash pictures... I want to see what you got!
ReplyDeleteYou will see it soon enough! lol
ReplyDeleteWow....this is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Julie! This one is for charity, but I will definitely be making one for myself...I love how it turned out!!! :=)
ReplyDeleteI have seen that pattern, loved it and yet never made it. Yours inspires me to make one now.It looks so good.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your stash reduction. I am trying hard to reduce mine too. I got given a load of stuff from a friend who was clearing out his late mother's loft and it sounds similar to the stash that you got given.
Oh, you must work up this pattern, Jan! They turn out so cute, so pretty, and have wonderful drape. My mom keeps me constantly supplied with acrylic. She lives in a retirement community and as soon as her friends find out that her daughter "does that kind of thing", they give it to her since their hands aren't able to knit or crochet anymore. It seems only fitting that I 'pay it forward' and make something that can be used by another for warmth and/or comfort.
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern. You do great work. Your weekend last week sounds great. Can't wait to hear more about your wonderful trip. xo
