Wonder if this is a good sign? After not eating for the past four days, and prior to that, I had only eaten for 2 days after the last go round of this crud, I wake up at 4 am this morning, famished! Yes, I said 4 freaking am!!! My schedule right now is a train wreck. I tippy-toed (didn't want to wake Scooter) into the kitchen and zapped me a bowl of Cream of Wheat cereal in the nuker, and poured a glass of orange juice to wash it down with. Oh my word, the noises my stomach is making afterwards...I'm not sure if it's woefully saying "thank you", or it's going to twist into something ugly again. Time will tell, but since I'm not dizzy or feeling nauseous now, I'm opting for the more positive "thank you". What a crazy diet...when this has all completely passed, I'm jumping on the scale! Oh, and I'm anxious to call my mom this morning to tell her she can stay home today and take it easy. Bless her heart...I know she means well, but she has been coming over every day to fix me tea, hot chicken broth, and an occasional piece of wall board dry toast, none of which I wanted or could keep down. I am so very grateful that my mom is still with us though, and I actually think it's kind of funny that she still hovers over me like that!
Having said all that, I'm sad to say there has been absolutely NO knitting happening. I didn't even have the strength to lift my needles or crochet hook. The desire was there, but no energy or focusing. I can't remember the last time that happened. Probably was when my last child was being born nearly 33 years ago, but if my ex-husband had handed me a hook or needles and yarn, I probably would've sure tried it! lol
The plan for today is to stay down and take it slow, cast on for a new project...(yayyy, I'm excited again!), and keep the diet light and bland.
Oh geez, I almost forgot...I do have some yarny goodness to share with you!! I received my Socks that Rocks yarn yesterday that I ordered. I can't stop staring at it. If you have never tried this yarn, you need to. That's all I'm gonna say. I used it before when I made my chevron scarf which gets me compliments everytime I wear it. I swear this yarn is absolutely gorgeous!!! The colorways shown are County Clare on the left, and Dragon Dance is the other. I'm not sure what they want to be yet, but as soon as I know, you will be the first I share it with! You can find it here. One of the things I need to do for 2010 is go through my stash and take inventory. It's like it's magically expanding..how does that happen? I'm so lucky to have such a supportive man in my life that hears me everytime I make the slightest exclamation over some yarn I've found and says "you NEED to get that!" Ummm, ok honey! I mean, who am I to argue with that? I really do try to keep it under control though, so moving right along, I'm off to pick up my needles today and use some of it! Hurrahhhh!!!
I am glad you are feeling better!! Have fun knitting!!! I am relaxing and knitting today as well
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day and thank you, Courtney!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you are on the up-swing. To go with the "wall board," try putting some applesauce on it. It works great with my kids when their stomache isn't feeling well with the flu
ReplyDeleteOh thank you Nicole! I have heard of that before, but guess I forgot. I even think I have some applesauce on hand!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are feeling better. You are lucky to have such a good mom. :) wow... I am just green ovely sock yarn.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you've been sick. No fun. It's great to be knitting again; I didn't for about 3 weeks, just no motivation. Last night, my sister's lack of socks without holes in them motivated me to cast on a pair for her; I hope to finish them before it gets warm, which will probably be the middle of June.
ReplyDeleteStay well!
Hey Rita! Thank you, I'm trying my best, but it seems everywhere you turn, someone has some sort of bug that gets passed onto me..grrr. I'm determined though! :=)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about socks. I need some so bad and yet, I keep knitting them for everybody else. Not this year though! This is going to be the year of ME, unless I choose to do it for someone else, not because it's an expected thing, but because I want to!!!
The "Crud" It sounds as awful and it is. Don't like it, don't want it. Love the yarn. Hope it made you feel better.
ReplyDeleteI promise not to breath on you, Linda. LOL
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon! I give Igor Gingersnaps for upset tummy, and heck yeah, me too, when I'm a little urpy~ they work!
ReplyDeleteI love knittin' socks, the Socks that Rocks sounds fun!
