Do you match your knits?

Last night, I had an epiphany, or as others might call it...a big DUH! This winter, each time we would get ready to leave the house to go somewhere, as usual, like most peeps I'm sure, I struggled to color coordinate all of my accessories with whatever I was wearing. You know, gloves, hats, scarves, right down to my socks. I usually pulled it off, but it always meant leaving something out. I can get my scarves to match some of my hats, and socks, well, I just need to knit more of those period. So, I now have set another new goal for 2010. From now on, when I go to purchase yarn, I will do my best to envision an entire 'set' and who knows, perhaps a couple of sweaters to complete my ensembles! I don't need every color on the wheel, but it would just be nice to have at least a couple of nice matching sets for next winter, or at least some pieces I can interchange with each other.

While I was pulling this all together in my head, I decided to knit some much needed dishcloths. I found this pattern and I love it!! It's got texture which I love for scrubbing dishes, it's the perfect size to hold onto since I have small hands, and it was fast and mindless as I was watching tv! I plan to knit even more of them today!

I can't believe how much better I'm feeling today...almost back to myself. Just a little congestion left in my chest, but the best part is I finally feel like I have some energy. Oh sunny days are here again!!! The sad news is, poor Scooter is now down with the crud. He is doing everything possible to combat it. Stuff I refused to do. He believes you have to basically burn the stuff out of you, so he gargles with hydrogen peroxide. Burns like fire I tell ya! I do use it to clean my toothbrush though, because if you want to keep passing the germs back to you, the quickest way would be through your toothbrush. Ummm yeah, no thanks!

Oh, and speaking of sunny days.....the sun is peeking through the clouds today...YES!!! I love the rain, but the color gray day after day just hasn't done much for me this year. It could be because I feel like I totally lost December and January. It must have been fate that I felt well enough for the week Scooter and I ran off to Tahoe and got married. I had a nasty cold the week prior, and then the week after was when I caught the next wave of Rhino virus and from there on, it was one after the other. However, we now have sunny skies at least for a little while. The forecast is calling for more rain I believe starting tomorrow and right on through the weekend again. Today, I will bask in it while I go have lunch with an old dear friend from my high school days, and know that I don't need to color coordinate all of the accessories!
