We left Mom's house and decided to stop by one of the specialty type grocery stores to pick up a piece of salmon in the deli, in case we wanted to have a late supper. We chose to cruise through the produce department and these 'horned' things jumped out in front of us. I teased Scooter and told him I had had them before and the weird thing about them is, you don't peel them to eat them. LOL He didn't buy my story...smart man, he is! They had them so proudly displayed, how could we not take one home and try it? Once back home, we curled up on the sofa for a little tv watching and me with my knitting. As the evening began to come to a close, we came to the conclusion that neither of us were hungry for a meal of salmon and veggies. Maybe just a light snack of Horned Kiwi Melon. What? You've never heard of this fruit? Well, be forewarned from the lesson we learned. Don't waste your money. They are pricey, horribly bitter, and nothing but gelatinous seeds you have to scoop out with a spoon. We truly thought we had come upon a well kept secret and perhaps we had, just not the one we were hoping for! We opted for some yogurt instead....
My dear sweet husband felt like he had neglected me all week long, with having to be out of town. I am such a homebody though, so it really doesn't bother me a bit. I enjoy perpetually decorating our home, I'm always moving things around, and then there's knitting! I'm always perusing cookbooks and recipes online, as well as planning new things to either paint or make out of stained glass. But hey, if he wants to take me somewhere when the weather is as gorgeous as it was today, I'm not going to put up a fuss about it. Off to go antiquing is always a huge hit with me, and it doesn't hurt that Scooter enjoys that a lot too!
I have to share with you something that had my name written all over it. I swear I heard it calling out to me. I know I did. Scooter and I can read each other so well. I didn't even have to say anything. I was standing and looking at it, and I hear, "honey, shall I have that carried up to the front desk for us? I think it needs to go home with us!" Hmmmm...maybe it was the way I was looking at it. :=)
So, may I present to you....my new spring/summer knitting chair/corner....ta da!!!!!!
Oh, and that knitting in the chair? That's the progress on my Sausalito cardi. I try to work on it a little each day, along with the charity knitting I'm doing for Tasha, aka bijouxmaster on Ravelry. I'll share some of that with y'all in a couple of days.
I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend and we'll chat again soon!!!
that chair is beyond awesome!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Fru! Isn't is fantastic!?!? I'm hoping to find another one and I don't even care what color it is!
