It is what it is

A friend of mine had to go through an anger management course a couple of years ago, and the one thing he came away with, is when you become angry, you "ACE" it...in other words, you have three choices. You can either A=accept, C=change, or E=escape. I now use this all the time, so when it comes to the weather, obviously we can't change it, but we can accept, or escape it. With the sun out everyday this past week, and temps in the low to mid 70's, I choose to accept it. Talk about gorgeous!!! Who would want to escape it!?!? Flowers are in bloom, trees have leafed out, and I'm beginning to plan my vegetable garden, as well as put in some new plants/flowers. My hairdresser was even in a mood yesterday, and chose to lighten my hair quite a bit, as she is wont to do when summer is approaching. This time of year makes me so glad there is a sunroof in my new car. I used the one in my sports car every chance I got. If it wasn't raining, that thing was open more times than not! The sun makes me smile!!
As promised, here is a completed pic of my February Lady Sweater. I have already worn it and love this pattern!!! It feels so fun on!

Lots of errands and knitting this week. I got my charity lapghans sent off to Dawn aka knittinwolf, had lunch with a friend, visited family, went to knit night, watched a couple of movies while Scooter was out of town for a couple of days, finished one sock of the ones I call Leaping Leprechauns (Embossed Leaves is the designer's name for them), and started another cardigan called Sausalito by Kim Dolce. I purchased the pattern and yarn at Stitches West last month, and absolutely love it!!! I am so glad I stopped by Miss Babs booth. One of her employees was wearing this sweater and I am very happy I saw it. It was one of those moments when you see something and it hits you...you immediately know that it has to come home with you. I haven't gotten very far on it yet, but I'm in no rush. I want to savor every moment of knitting it. Miss Babs' yarn is incredibly awesome to work with!! I'm not sure why the image turned itself on it's vertical side, but I'll keep you updated with more pics at a later date.

Scooter and I have a very busy weekend planned and are headed for the mountains again....and yes, my knitting will go with me too! My friends and family all know I'm fully capable of listening, moving my mouth, and hands, all at the same time. Well, heck, even some of them do the same, so no one is ever offended!! I would love to know your thoughts on this...do you knit/crochet while visiting with friends and/or family? Are they offended if you do?
Have a super weekend and as always, stay safe and happy!!!

  1. I love the February Lady sweater. I have to say it looks better on you than the hanger.. :) What a great sweater. I want to copy you!!

That new sweater is going to be so darned gorgeous.. wow... savor it.... those little bow ties are so very subtle and gorgeous.

I knit and visit. My friends love it when I do that.. even my non knitter friends. I too can chew gum, walk, knit and visit at the same time without compromising the quality of a visit... my hands are happy when they are busy and those who love and know me, love that about me. :)

When I was less experienced it was difficult to do and I wasn't able to visit and knit or crochet.

Have a great weekend. I am working.. working out.. and who knows.. hopefully knitting...

  3. Thanks Fru and Toni!!!! Love that you stopped by and gave me your input. Maybe I should've made my inquiry into a contest? I'm about due for one, so I'll have to think of something.

  4. I love your February sweater. I made on in red for my niece and promised myself that I would make one for myself but haven't got around to it yet.
I am so jealous of your weather. We haven't had a gpod summer in the UK for a couple of years. I hope that this year t will be a good one as I love the sun and the outdoors.
I always continue to knit or crochet when friends coem to visit. I think that they have got used to me over the years and don't feel offended as like you I can keep up a conversation at the same time.

  5. Thank you, Jan! You really must make yourself one of these sweaters...it's such a gorgeous pattern and fun to knit.
Thank you also for your opinion on knitting/crocheting while chatting with friends. I know of only one person who thinks it's rude, but she isn't very experienced, so I'm thinking that's why she feels she can't give her visitors 100% of her attention.
