There are many things in life that bring me joy, but none that can even begin to compare to the relationships I have with my children and my grandchildren. I can't even find words to express what an awesome weekend they all made it for me! Handmade cards and photo collages, visits, my incredible husband, huge chocolate covered strawberries, flowers, breakfast out, and yarn...euphoric could maybe best describe it! We took one of my best friends with us to breakfast on Sunday as well...my mom. Afterwards, I had such fun surprising her with a trip to go see one of her best friends. She had been wanting to go see her for quite a while now, but didn't want to make the trip alone. Her friend (whom I have always fondly called "auntie" and is 83 years old now), lives about an hour from us, so they don't get to see each other often anymore. They were so cute to watch and listen to them reminisce about things from over 50 years ago!
With my children, and all the grandchildren I have, Mother's Day was spread out over two days for me, and it is definitely one I will never forget. Hearing them all tell me they love me and ticking off all the reasons why, was the greatest gift of all! I am truly blessed!!!! Thank you to my children, grandchildren, mom, and my amazing husband for giving me the best gift of all...your love!
There wasn't much time for any knitting, and in fact, I am now thinking about frogging the cardigan I've been working on for me out of the Miss Babs' Yowza-Whatta Skein!...I have decided the size I chose will now be too big, especially because there isn't much shaping to the pattern that is kimono style.

Some of the yarn pron I received over the weekend is Malabrigo Sock in the colorway of Light of Love. I decided to start some socks out of it last night, as a secret surprise birthday present and just to be on the safe side in case she reads this post, I won't be divulging anything about them yet, other than maybe occasional updates/pics. Malabrigo is absolutely fabulous to knit with!!! I've had a request from one of my older granddaughters to knit her a sweater, and I'm seriously thinking about using Malabrigo for it. I haven't had a chance to decide on a pattern yet though, so I will of course have to take that into consideration also. I'm just tickled that my grandchildren are asking for knitted things now!!

Have you ever seen such a fun colorway of sock yarn before? This is a skein of Meilenweit in their new 80% Merino and 20% Polyamide blend. Love it, love it, love it! and can hardly wait to knit with it. The colorway reminds me of a jar full of bubblegum balls! It may decide it wants to be a fun little shawl in the end...time will tell. For now, I just like sitting and staring at it..lol
Have a great rest of the week and remember to surround yourself with nothing but positive goodness...because YOU deserve it! :=)
