Sweet success

My mom thinks it's pretty funny that the grass is taller than me.
It rained this morning, so not too sure I want to get my little paws and belly wet.

Don't tell my mom...I just want to smell her flowers. Promise.

My adorable little Maggie has nearly completed her crate training, after just four days! She now runs to the back door when she needs to potty, and only whimpers for a few seconds when it's nap time in her crate. She cracked me up when I went to my knit night on Wednesday. I felt like a new mom for the first time again, who was leaving her newborn for a couple of hours. Scooter was working out of town and because we weren't fully crate trained yet, I put her in our front bathroom, picked up the rugs and laid down a towel for her to hopefully potty on since I couldn't find any newspaper. I also put her crate in there with the door left open thinking she might get the idea that it's where she needs to go when it's time to sleep. Uhhh yeah, that was a whole lot of wishful thinking. What I came home to that night was a little puppy who managed to get into the bathtub and couldn't find her way back out. Who knows how long she had been crying for help in there. Lesson learned. However, she did pee on the towel, but unfortunately, the other part was on the floor. No worries though. Pine-Sol disinfectant is now my friend. My little angel has come a long ways since that night! I'm also anxious to introduce her to the dog park. That has to wait until she has her immunizations though. I'm thinking next week sometime. It has been an adjustment having her in our home, but I have to say, it's been worth it! We hope to go shopping again today for some more goodies for her. I'm told the dollar store has little t-shirts that will fit her as well as some shiny, glitzy, girly, rhinestone encrusted collars and leashes.

I have finished sock number one of the pair I'm making for a gift. They are THE softest socks ever, so it's safe to say that I am now definitely a Malabrigo junkie! I haven't heard anyone say how it holds up during laundering and repeated wear though, and would love to know. I will be casting on for the second sock today. This pattern goes so fast that I should've had the pair already completed, but I did knit on other projects in between. I'm planning on having a friend over this evening to knit with, so that always helps in making progress.

Scooter got back home last night and took me out to dinner. We had a couple of drinks and had such a wonderful time! He will be going out to the firing range this weekend, and since I have a gal pal coming over tonight, he plans to spend some time out in the man cave preparing for it. Should be an awesome weekend and we're both looking forward to it! Here's hoping yours rocks too....
