Commitment

Dealing with a nine week old puppy is just about as taxing as having a newborn. If it weren't for Maggie's cuteness factor, I'm afraid she would've found herself in a new home after just three days. Alas, I melt everytime those little eyes look at me, her tail begins wagging, and the whimpering begins...like a brand new baby. Definitely a huge commitment for someone that has been without children in her home for ohhhhhh, about 15 years now. I spend time with my grandchildren and then they go home.
We have almost completed crate training. It sure took a lot of patience, but I think she's just about got it down now. She has only had two accidents in the house, and both times, they were my fault. We are still getting acquainted and I misread her signals. She just about has me trained now too! We have been playing quite a bit, and it's so dang cute when she wears herself out. She falls asleep before I can get her back to her crate. These pics make her look so much bigger than she really is..as I said, I don't think she even weighs a full pound yet.

I have actually been able to get a little knitting done since Maggie began getting the idea of the crate routine. She will eventually learn that mom's knitting/yarn is NOT for her to play with!! The decreasing of the toe should take place today and by this evening, I should have one sock done! I probably got a bulk of my sock done last night at knit night though, as well as giving more consideration to knitting my first Alice Starmore design. If you haven't already seen my friend Toni's amazing accomplishment, check out her Norway she knitted here...OMG, phenomenal!! Even Lou, from the Lacy Knitter's Guild in Sacramento is in awe of her work on this sweater...and that's HUGE if you know Lou!!! She is now working on her first Jade Starmore, called Anne Boleyn from the book Tudor Roses and you can see her progress here. Beautiful knitting!!! I am so grateful for the friendship of Toni and she has agreed to mentor me on my sweater. I haven't chosen the pattern yet, but I'm getting pretty excited about it. I'll keep you posted! I'm so glad she encouraged me on this particular pattern for my socks. I am loving it, as well as working with the Malabrigo!

That's about all I have for today, so stay well, stay safe, and as always, enjoy your day!
