First off, I want to wish you all a wonderful weekend. I'm not sure what the weather holds for us here in northern California, but if it's to be a typical summer weekend, I'm sure it will be very warm. Since I was a small child, I have had an allergy to, of all things, chlorine. This means that any public pools, or other pools where there is a lot of use and the water has to be superchlorinated, it's off limits for me. Bah! I can go over where my mom lives and use the pool in her community whenever I want, but there is no guarantee for me how much chlorine and/or other chemicals are used. Since high school, I have avoided any pools I know nothing about. The chemicals don't really make me sick, but my entire body becomes covered with huge itching hives. Not comfortable at all! Our local lakes really hold no appeal for me anymore...too many people. My dream would be to have a swim spa in my backyard, but so far, I haven't been able to convince Scooter that we NEED one. I have threatened to go buy one of those little 3 ring kiddie pools...lol I have a few neighbors that have invited me over to swim in their pools, but again, the allergy thing. So, if it gets too warm for me, I will stay indoors in the a/c, or sit on our patio with the misters on. The only problem with the misters though, is if I'm trying to knit, my project gets a little soggy. Hmmm...maybe a good time to catch up on some podcasts or my reading!

I have finished my Teaberry Shuffle Socks and they feel so nice!!! There was only one little glitch while knitting them. I tend to put a death grip on my needles and I chose to use bamboo ones this time. I took them on our trip last weekend to work on them, and thankfully, because I know how I am, I also threw in my set of Knitpicks needles. With Scooter behind the wheel, and me knitting on my socks, it happened....SNAP! right in half went one of my bamboo needles. I think the next pair I knit, I will just start out with my Knitpicks dpns, regardless of the yarn. I wanted to use bamboo with this Malabrigo fingering weight because it seemed like it would just be a constant battle to keep my stitches on the metal needles. It is so soft and just glides along! It all worked out in the end, and I'm very happy with them. All that is left now is to get them mailed off to our daughter!
I hope to spend a good part of the day working on my fair isle Oregon vest. I have missed it, so I'm anxious to make some progress on it!!
However you choose to spend your day and the ensuing weekend, I hope you enjoy it!!!
