While organizing all of my files this morning on my laptop, I heard this trolloping down the hallway coming from our bedroom. I turned to look just in time to see this little
menace puppy, ears flapping in the breeze, with a bandanna in her mouth. Oh no! Oh yes, she had managed to find one of Scooter's 'sweat' bands that he evidently left lying too low for her short little legs to reach. It does you no good to try to get something away from her. She only thinks you're playing and begins playing that cat and mouse game where you come at her, she goes the other way around a table or under a chair. Next thing you know, you're wore out. The only thing you can hope for is that she will be distracted by something else, so you can grab whatever it is she has stolen from somewhere she knows she shouldn't have been. Or rather, is hopefully learning she shouldn't be. One thing she has captured, is our hearts. In the beginning, I wasn't sure I could deal with this new addition to our family, and Scooter was having no part of it. He isn't much of a dog person. After just three weeks though, Miss Maggie May has definitely integrated quite nicely into our family. She was fairly easy to crate train and now this tiny little thing goes and sits by the door when she needs to potty. I have actually been able to teach her a few little tricks and it's so dang cute to watch. She knows how to sit, roll over, and extend her short little 2 1/2 inch paw to shake hands/paws with you. She provides us with great entertainment, sometimes it's pretty funny. Like when she wants so badly to play with Snicks, but has learned what getting too close to him means...unless of course, he's in his playful mood in the mornings or early evenings. I can hardly wait to start taking her for walks and to the doggie park(s). One more month of puppy quarantine, and she can begin introducing herself to the world. She is three months old today and is no longer that scared little timid newborn she was when we first got her. She has an unlimited supply of energy, and it's quite fun to romp around the backyard with her. She has quickly learned what the word "NO" means, and knows better than to even try to go after my yarn. I love smothering her with kisses...I guess she can stay! :=)

In the past two days, I have gotten quite a bit further along on my socks I've been working on. About another two inches and I can begin my toe decreasing, so not too bad for two days work I suppose. I'm itching like crazy to get back to my Oregon vest though. I miss it, but I know I have to get these socks done. I was hoping to have them in the mail this week, but I'm not sure that's going to happen. Maybe I will allow myself an Alice Starmore fix at knitting group tonight!
