Bundle up!

Not a whole lot of time for blogging today, but I did want to take a few minutes and post to say "happy hump day!" I woke this morning to a thermostat reading of 66 degrees Farenheit. I know, I know, that's probably a heat wave for you peeps in Minnesota or Michigan, but after temps in the 90's the week before last, it's a little shock to our systems here in northern California at first. Poor little Maggie didn't want to get out of bed! After lunch today with a good friend, I'm thinking I need to go shopping for some new sweats to cozy up in and to stay warm when I take Maggie for a walk. After all, she got some new sweaters to keep the chill away!!


With several errands to take care of yesterday, I finally got to sit down last night and finish the little hat that matches the tiny cabled cardigan I knitted a few days prior. Both of these items came out so tiny. Either it's been too long since I've seen a newborn, or the sizing is way off in the pattern. I got gauge, but these look like they would fit a preemie. I'm going to show them to my friend today and see what she thinks. If she thinks the same as I do, I'm going to knit up another one using a Knitting Pure and Simple pattern that I use for my go to baby sweater. The smallest size in that pattern though is 6 months and my friend asked for newborn, since her great nephew is due in January. If I remember correctly though, it's a small 6 months, so maybe I can fiddle around with it a bit and come up with something closer to a 3 months size.
