Since my accident on Thursday, my daily activities have been greatly curtailed, and that goes for my knitting as well. Those of you who know me well, know that it just drives me absolutely insane to have to just sit still. Friday seemed to be the worst... it was all I could do to hold my toothbrush, or a glass to get a drink. A few years ago, my ex-husband bought me one of those parrafin wax spa thingies, so we got it out and gave my hands and my foot a treatment. Ahhhh...it felt so good. I'm still hobbling around on a pretty bruised, banged up, and swollen foot, and so long as I don't have to cup my hands around anything, it's all good. I tend to knit with my fingers more than my hands, and the bruising is up a little higher than the center of my palms, so I figured out a way to hold my needles last night so I could get a little knitting done. I couldn't do it for very long, but I was a happy camper for getting what little done that I did. I'm not sure if I told y'all about the little cabled sweater and matching hat that I knitted for a friend to give to her soon to be born great nephew....I think I did, but just in case, it turns out it is going to be too small for the baby. The doctor is expecting him to be about nine pounds, so that meant I needed to do something a little different. I decided to use a pattern that I used for my grandbaby, which is a Knitting Pure and Simple top down raglan. It might be a little slower going than usual for now, but I will get it done in time. Scooter has made me promise that if my foot doesn't feel any better, and the swelling and bruising doesn't subside by Monday, that I will make an appointment with my doctor. I'm confident all will be well by then!!
Tonight, it's off to a Halloween party...I might have to borrow a hospital gown my daughter has and dig out my boot/cast from the last broken foot I had four years ago, and go as a patient. Actually, I'm going to just go as comfortably as I can and enjoy everyone's company!! :=)
Sorry about the accident and hope you are feeling better. And you are still knitting; that is a real knitnurd!! :o)
