Let the season begin

Making these legwarmers for my daughter, I got to teach myself a new technique. I had never done a sewn bind off and don't know that I would've ever had need to, before knitting these. It's so incredibly easy and fast, along with being a whole lot stretchier and more relaxed than a typical bind off. I believe it's a technique designed by Elizabeth Zimmerman, but don't quote me on that. From now on, I will be using it wherever I can, since I'm one of those people that needs to go up a needle size on my bind offs because my project ends up with no give to it. I have completely finished the first legwarmer, and as you can see, have started the second one. The pattern actually goes pretty fast, if and when I find the time to sit down for a bit to work on it. For the past three days, I've been on the hunt for just the right ornaments for our tree. Shopping until I literally dropped, I think I'm done now. Our neighbors came over yesterday evening and loved it. I mentioned to A that I had been to five different stores looking for some really big and nice candy canes. After they left, she called me a little while later and said she remembered seeing some at a store I hadn't been to yet. Get this...she knows I'm going to be very busy today getting my house cleaned for the knitting group I belong to, to come over for our holiday get together tonight. So she has offered to go get them for me and let me pay her when she gets home with them. We have some pretty special neighbors and are very thankful for them!

I'm very excited to be hostessing our holiday knit night tonight in my home, for the awesome group I belong to!! Every one of these women have become very special in my life, and I'm looking forward to making it a fun evening for them! With some last minute chores to be done, and appetizers to be made, this post has to end if I'm to get it all done in time.
Take care, keep your sticks clicking, and have a great day!
