Now I know

Last night, I hosted a holiday knit together/gift exchange in my home, for the knitting group I belong to. This group of women are the most amazing, and I feel so privileged and honored to call each of them "friend". We had such an awesome evening, so I want to say "thank you" to all of them for making it such a fun time!!!
I knew several of them are tea drinkers and I wanted to be able to serve it in a nice way, but I wasn't sure exactly how I was going to do that. For several years during my first marriage, my ex husband would surprise me with a new Fitz & Floyd teapot for Christmas. I have a few of them that I dearly love, but was just never really sure if they were meant to actually be used. I've had other teapots' finish crackle on me when I put hot water in them, and I never wanted that to happen with my collectibles. So, I went online to F&F's website and was able to find out that they are meant to be used and to prevent them from any damage, I needed to warm them up first with some warm water from the tap. That's what I did, and now my teapot looks as good as the day I got it. I am now very happy knowing that these darling teapots are also very functional!!!
I spent the day with my daughter and her children, and now that they have headed back home, I am going to get some laundry done, the living room straightened up, and the dishwasher unloaded. After that, I plan to put on some sweats, and curl up with Maggie for a short nap before I settle in to knit for the evening. I'm anxious to work on those legwarmers some more!

  2. Thank you, Nancy! That one is probably my favorite. I actually leave them out year round as they are too pretty to pack away somewhere! My knitsibs are like family to me!!!
