Yesterday, my fur baby Maggie and I, made an emergency trip to the vet. The night before, she accidentally rolled off our bed as she was enjoying some belly scratches. She began wriggling around in her playful little way and off she went! When we got up yesterday, she couldn't walk without wincing, and cried when we tried to pick her up. The vet said without a lot of very expensive tests (a $1200. special type of xray?!), it was hard to tell if she had a slipped disk(s), which Dachshunds are prone to. My job was to bring her home, keep her crated and down for the next two weeks. Right! If you know anything at all about this breed, they are beyond stubborn! There was no way by afternoon that she was having any of that crate business. Today, she seems to be much better, but I just hope it's not the painkiller I was sent home with that is masking whatever is wrong. She loves her morning sunshine! Do you see who attempted a photo bomb? Little stinker!
Needless to say, it was a very long day with these two little sweeties. My little Chihuahua has two luxating patellas. In other words, her two hind knees slip out of place, but we're hoping with a little therapy and her diet, we can maybe reverse that. Until then, I'm tending to two little special needs pups. It was a good thing that I had scheduled a massage for later in the afternoon. If you have never had a head to toe full body massage, do yourself a favor! I have the best massage therapist, and have started scheduling 90 minute sessions. An hour with her just goes by too fast. I can hardly wait for my next appointment in two weeks!! After all, I can't help them if my muscles and joints are hurting too, right?
While dinner was cooking, I soaked my Colfax shawl and got it blocked. I am so over the top pleased with this piece!! It's blocked much bigger than what I thought it was going to be, so I know I'm going to love wearing it!! It's one of those that says "wrap yourself up and snuggle". It's deliciously squishy and such a beautiful pattern by Angela Tong!
Go enjoy your day, and remember, get the weeds away from your roses (life?)...you will breathe much better!
