Let there be light

My hubby commandeered my computer last night, which is on my desk about 4 feet away from my spinning wheel. It has been a couple of weeks since I've touched my wheel, so I thought, why not, while I'm waiting for him to do what he needed to do (our computers have different OS) on mine. It doesn't look like much progress from the last time I shared some spinning with you, but I'm spinning this merino quite thin. I plan to do a three ply, so we'll see how it goes. It felt good to be at my wheel though, as it always does!

My Vodka Lemonade aka Wrath of Grapes cardigan is coming along very nicely! I'm almost ready to start dividing for the sleeves and am truly enjoying knitting this!! The pattern does give you a little to think about on each right side row, but not to the point where you're pulling your hair out. I am able to watch tv, or hold a conversation while working on it. I hope my friends that are knitting it along with me are finding it just as fun with enough of a challenge to keep them on their toes. They have never knit sweaters before, so we are all very excited to see how each one turns out!

A couple of years ago when I attended Stitches West, I saw a vendor that was selling these nifty light thingies that wrapped around your neck or I suppose anywhere you wanted to put it really. The 'cord' was a flexible tube type thing of sorts, and I passed it up. This past February when I went to SW again, I looked for this vendor, because I decided I wanted to purchase this light after all. My hotel room didn't have the best lighting, nor did the 'communal' area in the bar/lobby of the hotel where most people congregate for a while to knit, make new friends, visit with old ones, etc. I just think this gadget would be the handiest thing ever to have, for those times when you want to knit, or read, or whatever, and you need a little extra lighting. That vendor was nowhere to be found this past year, but that's okay, because yesterday I received my latest Patternworks catalogue in the mail, and there it was! It's not the same exact brand, but who cares? I'm going to check JoAnn's one last time, but if I don't find one that works for me there, I will be placing my order today.

For now, it's time for that second cup of coffee as I plan out my day, because it will end at the ballpark cheering on my grandson's team, and there is much to do in between.
