Knitting for me this week has been merely a row or two here and there, nothing real consistent. I have been working more in my garden and tending to plants around our home. I have several that need transplanting, but it's been pretty hot since I went to the garden center over the weekend to get the supplies. I managed to get one of the bigger ones done today, which is one I've been trying to get to for the past two years. I know, right!? It's a succulent that my mom gave me just before she died, called String of Pearls. It has somehow survived in the little six inch plastic pot she bought it in, but now it's in a lined basket where it will have room to spread out. I still have a couple more to do, including a couple of orchids we have in our sunroom.
So, I have no real knitting to show you this time, but I do plan to relax this evening and get some done.
Spinning, on the other hand is a different story. Since I last posted, I got my first two skeins of a merino blend worsted weight plied, washed, and skeined. Oh wait, only one skein is completely finished, the other one is currently drying. The first one is 137 yards, and I got 167 yards in the second skein. I have also started spinning for my third skein, and wow, I love this yarn I'm creating!! I didn't know how much I would like it, if at all, but turns out, I can't hardly wait to knit something from it!! It is so soft, and so airy!!
Delving into a good book for some summer reading is also a favorite of mine. A couple of weeks ago, I joined a book club, and we chose today for our start day. So far, I'm really enjoying Fall of Giants by Ken Follett.
That's about all I have for this post...what a great summer so far!
