So, on Facebook today, I came across a video of a young girl named EmiSunshine....she was singing Me and Bobby McGee and strumming her ukulele. There was just something about her that just endeared her to me and I plan to keep my eye on her. I think she's only ten, but looks like I might be able to learn a few things from her. She's from eastern Tennessee, which I also just love about her. I was going to imbed the video here, but for some reason I can't seem to do it. If you do a search on your Facebook for her, she should pop up. I hadn't picked up my uke at all this week (is it already Thursday?), and she certainly inspired me to do so today. Like spinning, music brings me such joy and peace, and it's even better when my husband accompanies me with his acoustic guitar. I love jammin' with him!!!
The book my book club is reading (Fall of Giants by Ken Follett) has become so mesmerizing!! I'm on chapter ten, and didn't get a chance to read at all today, but I'm okay with that. I have planned it so that I should be able to get quite a bit of reading done this next week. Maybe, just maybe, I might be able to get in a few pages tonight before bed...and with my coffee in the morning. I love sitting out on our patio in the very early morning when the air is a little cooler, and I have no distractions when I read.
I had some errands to take care of today, but I did get to sit and knit for about an hour on the cowl I posted about yesterday. One of my errands was a hair appointment, and my stylist loved the cowl so much, that I think I may knit her one. She is just the sweetest, and when I told her who it was for, and why I was doing it, I thought she was going to cry. I haven't known her for very long, and she is just one of those people that I really clicked with, plus she treats me fair where my hair is concerned, so she deserves a cowl!
Ha! I didn't realize till I posted this that you can see my reflection in my gazing ball.
The really cool thing I like about my new stylist is that she also offers skin care services. She does back facials, which I love!, as well as different exfoliation facials on your face. We both have the same kind of pool (she ran out and got one last week after I told her about mine. Lol), and I told her I did nothing but relax in mine yesterday. She noticed a white area on my neck that apparently didn't get any sun because of the angle of my head, which meant the rest of me was nice and tan. She advised me to be careful and use sunscreen. I told her I did!! I have always just had that kind of skin that tans, and that next time I'm in my pool, I'll have to angle my head in a different position. Haha! Not what she wanted to hear!
See that white triangle? Hahaha
I have still been spinning some each day, but not for long periods of time. It is getting done though...little by little. Just as my music is coming along...little by little.
