So close I can taste it

My last post showed a picture of some fiber I started spinning, and I couldn't remember the color name at that time. Since then, I have come across the card that was included in the package, and love the name. It's Violet Supernova, and is not just a BFL...it's superwash!! It is such a lovely fiber to spin, and it's insisting on being spun rather thin. My only complaint with it is I keep coming across a lot of slubs, and while I for the most part can pick them out, it's annoying to have to stop to do that. Maybe I will get a fingering weight after all. It's slow go-ing though, but I do spin every day, and I've got probably just around 1 1/2 ounces done. I ordered this from BeeMiceElf, and if you're in a hurry, I don't recommend her at all. I waited nearly six weeks for my order to come, and what really bugged me the most, is I sent her a couple of emails, as well as pm's on Ravelry inquiring about it. When I ordered it, my invoice said 2-3 weeks, and she didn't even give me the courtesy of a reply. Not good customer service at all. I get that it has to be dyed first, but I can order from other people who do a much larger volume than BME, and have my order within a week's time. At the very least, be kind enough to answer my inquiries. I'm just sayin'....Anyway, I'm sure it's going to be a very pretty yarn and I will knit something fabulous out of it!

You may or may not remember my "Pool Party" socks, but I can show you progress has been made. I'm pretty sure I showed you sock #1 when I completed it. I can't imagine not having shown you!! I love these socks...I'm almost to the point where I can put in my waste yarn for the afterthought heel. Working on these socks has inspired me to pick my Kirsten Kapur mystery socks from 2012. I know, I know, you're probably shaking your heads at that one, but this was around the same time my mom passed away, and my mojo for everything fiber related marched right out the window! It's back in full swing now, as I know that's what my mom would want! I so want to get these done as they are in an olive green and I don't currently have any green socks in my drawer..... and they are done in one of my favorite yarn socks, Cherry Tree Hill. These will be up next after my wild, fun and crazy, neon vanilla afterthought heel socks...oh, and by the way, I love this heel....

Sock #2!

This scarf pattern continues to have me intrigued! I'm so close to being finished with it, and then I get to steek it to open it up. Not only do I love everything about this project, but I'm loving the whole process of how it knits up. It's called the Bad Oyster Scarf, and I also threw "Boho" in the name too...just because it looks so chic.

Yesterday, we had a pizza/swim party at Nana's and I just love doing this. I went and picked my grandkids up and brought them back to my house. They could easily walk the two blocks, but I don't know if my thirteen year old granddaughter can handle a couple of rambunctious five year olds on a walk like that. It's actually more like four blocks. And I needed to swing by and get their pizza for lunch anyway. While they ate, I vacuumed and tested the water in the pool. They ended up swimming and playing for three hours!! I bet they all slept great last night! I'm thinking since it's forecasted to be 103F today, we might have a repeat today, sans pizza. Maybe tuna sandwiches and a veggie tray...a little healthier, right?
