The instructions say so

YES!!! I finished my first pumpkin sock and I gotta tell ya, peeps....if you have never put on a sock knit from Cherry Tree Hill...well, hurry over to your LYS and pick some up! It's just as scrumptious and squooshy as Malabrigo Sock yarn, in my opinion. I will definitely be using this yarn again, and I'll bet if I look hard enough, I probably already have more of it in my stash.
This pattern is THE cutest and most perfect for Fall. The instructions say "start immediately with second sock" and that is what I will most likely do today. I did modify the toe a bit as I prefer to kitchener rather than weave tail through remaining stitches and draw up. I was also concerned with the foot part because it tells you to repeat the chart 4 more times and since I have a small foot (sz 6), I wasn't sure if it would be too big or not, so I made the toe much shorter by decreasing nearly every row. It's a perfect fit and I'm so happy with it!!! Oh, and this pattern is a free download on Ravelry...a win win all the way around!

In other news, I'm happy to report that my Cosima is all seamed up and I have picked up my stitches for the neckband! What brought this on you ask? The fact that it was chilly yesterday morning when I got up and even more so today. Then I see on the news yesterday where they were going to begin making some snow at a nearby ski resort at midnight. It has to be shivering cold for them to be able to do that. I have been in northern California my entire life (born and raised with exceptions of a couple of moves), and I have never, ever, seen them start this sort of operation in September...not even October for that matter!!!! This particular ski resort also announced that for the very first time ever in its history of 40+ years, they will be hiring all locals. Normally, in a good economy, they have to recruit in South America for ski instructors, etc. Not this time. They have over 800 applications from local people alone. Anyway, my skiing days are over, so Cosima won't be hitting the slopes, but when that north wind blows down off the Sierras, baby, it's brrrrrrr cold! I should be finished within the next few days, and then I intend to concentrate on my February Lady Sweater.......moving right along.

My 'Lake's Edge' sock(s) now has a heel and the start of the instep. I've just not been real gung-ho on working on these socks because I'm not real impressed with the amount of cotton in the Sockotta yarn. I just wanted to have something portable to take with me to the salon for my pedicures, as I hate just sitting still without something to do with my hands....also, just wanted to get this yarn out of the stash bin. Who knows? Once they're completed, they might get thrown into the gift box, or if my mom or aunt likes them, they might be the recipient of them. I do want to get them off my needles though and out of my WIPs category on Ravelry.

I'm expected over at my friend Carol's house this morning, before knitting this afternoon. Her and her husband just moved to northern California from Atlanta, Georgia, and have bought a house. I'm so happy for her that she has gotten to move out of the hotel they were living in for the past month! The house is BIG and nearly every square inch of floor was covered in a light mauve/pinkish color of carpet. Can we say "GAG!" They had the carpet taken up and new hardwood floors installed. Scooter and I want to do the same thing in our house, so he told me to go check Carol's out and see how I like them. I'm so excited.....he completely agrees with me that it is what we need to do...and soon!
I haven't seen her dog, Bodhi, in a couple of weeks and I have missed him! He is such a sweetheart of a black lab and I adore that big boy that thinks he is a lap dog...lol I'm anxious to see how he likes his new swimming pool too! lol

Happy Birthday to my friend, Toni!!!! I hope you have an awesome day and are treated as special as the person that you are...you are a truly wonderful woman and deserve all the best life has to offer! Cheers!!!!
