All the best intentions

I had planned on going and getting my seasonal flu shot last Friday, and the truth of it is, I got lazy and didn't do it. Wanna know what happens to procratinators? About midway through dinner last night, it hit me! A wave of nausea that sent me diving to the middle of the floor flat on my back. When that didn't work, I rolled over onto my stomach. That felt even worse, so I went to the side. Poor Scooter didn't know what to think or do. He kept insisting the spaghetti dinner I made was the best he ever tasted. lol I assured him I would be fine by morning, then he marched me off to bed. So, here it is morning, and well, let's just say I'm in no shape to 'bustamove'! I'm hoping with maybe some tea and toast, it will pass quickly. I had so many things I wanted to go get done today, and instead, I'm going to take this slow and become even closer friends with my knitting. I know, you feel sorry for me, right? Nothing else hurts, just the nausea, so who knows, it may have been something I ate the night before that didn't agree with me. I am the biggest handwashing fanatic I know, and when that isn't available to me, I use sanitizer that I carry in my purse, and I'm very mindful of not putting my hands anywhere near my face! Still, it happens, but I'm looking at it as just getting it out of the way early for the season.....and perhaps, if it is the flu, it might not be a strain that would've been covered by that vaccination anyway. You just never know.

I made a little progress on the second sock of my pumpkins, and I'm still very much in love with them!!! I can hardly wait to wear them and to get started on another pair. I desperately need socks this year and there is nothing better than hand knitted ones!!!
For those that asked about the picture I posted of my first pumpkin sock.....that scarecrow is one I handpainted (yes, I paint too) a few years ago onto a terracotta saucer, which is why you might see numbers in this pic on his face (funny how my camera picks the littlest details up). It makes the perfect pie server for this time of year and is one of my favorites! I need to get my brushes out more often....

Have a fabulous Fall weekend and stay safe!!!

  2. Thank you Toni! If I could put my knitting down long enough, I could probably get some painting done. Right now, I have a one track mind, but you just never know what might hit me next! :=)
Wish I could've enjoyed that spaghetti...lol I always make enough for two meals though, so as soon as I can, I WILL have some!

  4. I bet it's not the same flu as the vaccine this year. Around here the doctors are assuming everyone has swine flu because it's too early for any other kind, and it's gone through the schools. I spent almost a week under the weather. Not severe symptoms, just enough to make me sleep for 5 days!

  5. Whatever it was, I'm just glad to be over it! We had a whole football team out last week at one of the area high schools here. They had to postpone their game till tonight. They aren't taking any chances and I'm glad!!!
