Ole'!

I just had to show y'all what I've been working on! I had promised Sophie at least one more blankie for her charity. If you click on her name, you can read about this little girl that wanted to do something for other children. I'm very pleased with how this one turned out and I hope she will be too. It has been yeeeeeaaars since I've done anything in a crochet 'ripple' and making this blankie reminded me why. The patterns are usually so redundant and mindless that they put me to *yawn* sleep. However, it is a good pattern if you are a very basic beginner. If you are more advanced like myself (well, I am!), but have those times when you need something that is far from a challenge, such as when you're visiting with people, or watching tv, this would be the go-to pattern. This pattern is kinda cute though...the red stripes you see look kinda ruffle-y because it's a sc, then a dc, then a sc, then a dc, etc. etc. So at least you get to do something besides a sc throughout the whole thing. I chose some bright and cheery colors that reminds me of a fiesta! Salud!!!
I have also been doing some knitting and am on the heel of my first Pumpkin sock. I love the Cherry Tree Hill sock yarn and this pattern is so cute!! The perfect socks for Autumn/Fall!!!

I keep saying I'm going to take a day and spend it seaming up my Cosima sweater so I can put the finishing touches on it. For some reason, I get busy first thing in the mornings and then forget about it. Maybe I'm sub-consciously putting it off because it isn't really cold enough for it yet? I don't know, but I am anxious to get it done...really!!!

If you haven't seen what Toni got for an early birthday present, she has posted a pic on her blog. I'm hoping she can make it to knitting tomorrow night...and that she will let us fondle her new acquisition! :=)

I hope this post finds you all well and good vibes being sent out to Jasmin's mom, Gigi, whom together, they put out one of my favorite podcasts called The Knitmore Girls. She has been under the weather, but like the trooper she is, she was knitting yesterday. That's a very good sign!!!

  1. Hi Deedee..it is magnificent. I am so tempted to copy you... but then I am glad you mentioned the drone of it all. :) It is sure worth the effort, it is so lovely. You do a bang up job. Even though it is basic, you can tell that you do wonderful work as an advanced crocheter. :)

  5. I like mindless knitting to work on while around my family and friends, I have to keep my hands busy and when I am working on an easy project, it keeps my hands busy and I can participate in the conversation. :-)

The socks are cute. I wonder if my brain could eventually wrap around that pattern?
