As I said in a previous post, I told a young man that works at the Panera's where I go to knit every Wednesday, that I would be happy to knit him a hat. He wanted one of those Peruvian style hats with the earflaps and braids hanging down on the sides. I guess that's still the rage with the younger set. I almost forgot all about it until Friday, so I went stash diving and came up with these colors. I can see more of these in my future. It was a fun and quick knit! Oh, and I did the entire project using the magic loop method for the first time, rather than my DPNs! I'm not sure about using a bulky weight yarn, but then I'm not a snow skier/boarder like he is either, so it might be the preferable choice. I may adapt future Thorpes to a worsted weight and see how that works out. I'm just hoping it fits Nathan as I failed to take his head measurements, and I should've trusted others who have gone before me, when they advised the pattern runs big. If it doesn't fit, I would be happy to give it to charity and knit him another. I'm thinking it just looks big though because of the heavier weight yarn...we'll find out on Wednesday! In any case, it was my pleasure to knit this for Nathan, and I hope he gets many years of wear out of it!
Sundays are usually a very lazy day for Scooter and I...just doing whatever we want and spending time together around the house. We have come so far since the beginning of our relationship. Who would ever guess that the back pain he was having could prevent us from achieving a healthy union? He has been pretty much pain free now (after finally finding the right doctor) for three days and I now have the man of my dreams! He is amazing and I love him more with each passing day!!! Last night, he thanked me for my patience and riding this out for the past three years that we have been together. I'm not going to go in depth by what he meant by that, but it brought tears to my eyes. I am still in awe this morning, as we both look forward to an even stronger, happier future....and no, out of the four brothers he has, none are available!
I hope you are having a wonderfully positive day!!!
