I should've warned you

I guess I should've titled my post yesterday "Spoiler Alert"...that way you would've at least had the option of whether or not you wanted to go ahead and see what I was up to, so I apologize if I spoiled it for anybody. Like I said, I've never done a 'mystery' knit before, so just didn't even think about it. Duh! The pattern was a little hard to make out in my pic anyway, so maybe I didn't give too much away. I have since changed the colorway of my yarn to show off the pattern better, and also ended up having to go down a needle size. Working it on sz 2's was just going to be way too big and sloppy for my calves. Hmmmm....maybe my new air stepper is already working...wooohooo!!! Oh, did I tell y'all about my new toy? I love this thing and will include it in my workout routine on a regular basis. It's great for cardio as well as toning. Trust me, I hate exercise as much as the next person, but I know it's necessary and I can do this while in front of the tv. Exercise is THE most boring thing I can think of to do, so if I can at least watch tv or listen to my iPod while doing it, I will muddle my way through. I'll admit, getting some fresh air while on my walk or riding my bike is a good thing too, but the air quality sometimes doesn't agree with me, and with the rainy season almost here, I think my air stepper was a good investment. Actually, I think it's called an air climber, but nonetheless, a very good workout!

I'm almost to the heel on my second pumpkin sock, so should have those off the needles very soon and I've very excited about it! I'll post pics when I've finished them. I had a false start to my Socktoberfest mystery sock as I said above, I started over and re-did the first clue for the first sock. I'm still using Malabrigo, just in the colorway called Solis. I had to drop down to a sz 2.5mm needle for a better fit and since I only have one set of them in the KnitPicks needles, it looks like I might be stuck doing one sock at a time. Bah! I really wanted to do both at the same time, so hoping maybe I can borrow a set from a friend. The second sock would have to be done on the same needles I would assume because KnitPicks are sized a tad differently than other brands. We shall see...

We are supposed to warm back up here to the low 80's here in northern California, which is normal for this time of year. It gets pretty cool at night, but nothing to really complain about. Wherever you are, I hope you are enjoying your weather and are able to enjoy some of the gorgeous Fall colors that are popping out!

  3. LOVE the climber! I need that--and a ton of motivation. Although stepping on the scale at the end of the day fully clothed might provide that.

I'm getting through the color changes and shorter days and cold nights by telling myself that this is the last time I'm forced to endure them, because next summer I'll move to our place in the Keys where there'll only be two seasons: warm and hot!!!

  4. Yep, I'm thinking my climber was worth every penny I spent for it! I am loving it..especially since Scooter pointed out that I was using it backwards and I have flipped it around now! LOL

I am so looking forward to hearing about life at YOUR PLACE IN THE KEYS!!! :=)
