Magic carpet ride

I wanted to wait until I was well rested post birthday to share one of the things Scooter got me..I also wanted to wait until the lighting was just right. I have wanted a wool Oriental rug for a long time now, and it had to be the perfect colors, and fit. On my birthday, Scooter bought me the one in the pic above...and it is perfecto I tell ya!!! I love this rug so much! Not only that, but I also found a new sofa I fell in love with at first sight! I can hardly wait to put my new living room together. Only problem is...we have to get the sofa we have now out of the living room. I gave it to a friend, but she has to find the muscle to get it to her house, and hopefully, that will be very soon. I had no intentions of getting a new sofa this soon, but it was set up in the store with the rug, so I just couldn't let it get away from me.

Knitting continues, but I'm trying to also take on some other projects as well for Christmas. I've got the stained glass piece I think I talked about the other day, and now, there is jewelry. I met up with a dear friend the other day that I worked with for many years, and she makes earrings by the hundreds!!! She had me pick a pair for my birthday, and I love them. I will have to take a pic of them soon. I was on such a high from my birthday...so many people made it so special for me! It was a super high, and now, I'm coming down off that high, so I'm declaring my Saturday a day of rest. Well, ok, maybe not so much, but some spot cleaning here and there in the house, and then whatever I feel like doing at the moment it hits me. Scooter has gone out to the shooting range for the morning. I'm still loving that he has something he enjoys so much! He gets to shoot, and then I get dinner out if I want (I love to cook!)...works for me! :=)

If anyone else out there listens to podcasts...I have discovered a new one and I highly recommend it!! It is called sassypantsknitter....... I can hardly wait for the next episode! Another one of my favorites is Knitmoregirls, and I'm hoping today finds Gigi more improved (recent heart surgery)! Get well soon, Gigi!!!
