Ever faithful

My sweet little Maggie continues to stick to me like glue. The perfect little lap doggie! She still seems to think, however, that there is room for her as well as whatever knitting or crocheting I happen to be working on at the time. We are learning new things everyday though. Bathtime is becoming less of a chore as she's calming down a little more each time, trusting that we aren't going to let her slip down the drain. Even Snicks (her cat now) misses her when he can't find her if she's asleep in her crib crate. There was a time when he wanted nothing to do with her. This morning I couldn't find either one of them, so I peeked out through the sliding glass door into the backyard, and there they were, dining together side by side on their daily ration of greens grass. I actually think she was just mimicking him because I've never seen her do that until today. She has been a lot of work, but she has also brought a lot of joy to our family. At fourteen weeks, she already has three tricks mastered; sit, shake, and stay. Very cute to watch with such a tiny puppy!

The leaves on my Oregon vest are completed, and my love of this piece continues to be undying. Doesn't it sort of look like Eiffel Towers in between the leaves though? Just very cool. I have put it aside just for a tiny bit, in order to make a 'just because I love you' gift for one of my daughters. I can't say much more than that because she hasn't a clue that I'm doing it, and I want it to be a total surprise. I will say that it is crocheted, and the pattern is one of the worst written ones I have ever come across! It definitely is not for the novice crocheter, but rather, a more advanced crocheter, or someone who has an advanced crocheter that can help them. I started it yesterday, and expect to be finished with it this evening or tomorrow morning. The pattern is full of errors, and at first, when I discovered it, I sent the designer a message yesterday. I have yet to hear back from her, but meantime, I have gone ahead and sorted it out. It's published in a Leisure Arts book, and I can't believe Leisure Arts didn't have the pattern tested or whatever it is they do before putting it out there in their books. Well, I've gotten it worked out now, so I'll post pics of it in the next day or two.

The past week or so, has seen me getting my re-decorating mojo back. I'm still in the process of changing things around a bit in our living room, while Scooter is working on our kitchen cabinets. Much of my time has gone into perusing magazines for ideas, and visiting some of the home decorating stores. I'm having so much fun doing it, and even taking little day trips to other towns nearby to find that perfect must have treasure.
Eventually, it will all come together just the way I want ...because I'm just stubborn like that! :=)
