Wrong goose

It sometimes confounds me what comes up when you do a google search of the most innocent topics/subjects. This morning whilst having my morning coffee, I heard the sounds of Autumn approaching. We live in an area where geese migrate to for the winter, so I wanted to learn more about them. What better place to go than google, right? I typed in the search box the words 'goose in california'. Did you know The Wild Goose is the best topless dance club/adult cabaret in the Los Angeles area? I wonder if the name of this place has any connection with the term "cooked goose", as in when a husband returns home after a night at the strip club with lipstick all over his collar, or some other telltale sign of where he was for the evening? I'm sure it isn't referencing the goose for Christmas dinner. Never mind. Back to the goose I was looking for...
I think Scooter has told me before that it's the Canada Goose that flies over our house each Autumn and again in Spring, when they begin to migrate back up to the furthest northern part of the U.S. or southern part of Canada. At first, I had forgotten what he told me, hence, the reason for the google search. I'm so ready for Autumn/Fall...bring it on!
Although I worked several rows on my Coin Lace Scarf last night, until it's blocked it isn't going to look like much. It's easier for me to work on it during the daytime as the color of my yarn is dark, making it a bit of a challenge to do the coin lace stitches. I may have to give in and bring my Dazor lamp in from the sunroom to where I knit in the evenings. If you are thinking about knitting this stole/scarf, and you are on Ravelry (if not, join!), this pattern is being done as a KAL in the SK Kozinski group, and we would love for you to join us!!

I also finished a decent length for a cuff on the first sock of the pair I'm making for Scooter, if I chose to do a different pattern. I have decided to continue with the 2x2 rib all the way down the sock, as I'm liking the tweed effect the yarn is working into. Also, I went to a LYS yesterday and picked up some solid black for the heels and toes. Scooter prefers his socks to come up mid-calf and with a size 11 foot, I'm afraid I would run out of the tweed like yarn (Regia) since I only have one skein of it. I'm very excited with my plan to surprise him with at least three new pairs of socks, perhaps for his birthday the first part of December. Well, that's the goal I've set for myself anyway. So much knitting, so little time....sigh.
Have an awesome weekend!!!

  1. I too love the Canadian Geese that fly to and fro in fall and spring. It's telling me my two fave seasons are approaching. An innocent google search can bring up some not so innocent answers, the internet is a blessing and a curse all in one
