Dressed to the nines

Yesterday, Scooter and I ran over to Wal Mart after finishing up some other errands. We remembered afterwards, on our way home, that we were out of Snicks food, and they have the best price on the kind superkitty likes. We were stocking up when we noticed they had just put out some new little doggie apparel. Maggie is getting to where she doesn't want to go out in the grass to take care of bizness because it's getting colder in the mornings. Plus the fact that she is dachshund and seems to stay cold all the time. She likes nothing better than to hunker down under our blankets in bed. When she was a newborn, she hated the little dress I put her in, so I never tried anything again. Until yesterday. We bought her a new sweater to try because they were only $5. Nothing to lose really if she decided she wasn't having any of that. Much to our surprise, she loves her new wardrobe addition! She came back in the house this morning and had grass all over it that she was tracking in, so I took her sweater off. She was M.A.D.!! She grabbed it out of my hands and held on to it...too darn cute! She even posed for a couple of pics...Wish I could've gotten some better ones of her in her new sweater, but she is so quick and if she hears the camera click on, she's bouncing all over the place!

I have been busy spending time with Scooter and other family and friends, but I did manage to get quite a bit of knitting done also. Like I said before, I joined Socktoberfest and this year, I wanted to knit both socks at the same time so I would have a completed pair at the end of the five week clues. The leg portion took the most time, but it's so pretty and well worth it! Yesterday, clue #3 was released for the heel and heel flap. I finished one of the heel flaps this morning and will do the other one at some point today. I want to finish a couple of other projects...well, finish one that is, and cast on for another. A good friend of mine has asked me to make her a booties and hat set for a new grandbaby she's expecting in January, and I told her I am throwing in a sweater too! The second pair of mystery socks I was going to knit for a Christmas present are going to have to go down a notch in the queue, but I'm good with that. I'll just have to wait and see how things go in the next couple of weeks. Scooter and I have another big trip coming up, so I have a lot of other things to think about getting done as well.
Enjoy your weekend!!!

You have a great weekend too...I'm going to spend what's left of it going out to dinner tonight with my honey, snuggling up with a movie and some knitting afterwards. Not sure about tomorrow yet..just one of those do what we want when we think of it kind of days.
