Just to update you a little on the progress of Scooter's Sock Monkey Funkiness....I got about halfway with the heel last night before going to bed, and somewhere around dark o'thirty, 1 a.m. to be exact, Maggie decided she wanted to play. I also took this as a sign that she needed to be let out to potty. She had slept since I got her back home yesterday (long ordeal after a trip to Barktoberfest on Sunday..remind me to tell you sometime) around 5 p.m., so yeah, I guess she was ready for a little wrestling that time of morning. After going potty, and me now being wide awake, I decided to sit out in the living room to knit for a little while. Miss Maggie promptly curled up next to me with her little head on my leg, snuggled safely inside her blankie, and dozed back off. The people that had her gave her people food, which did not please me at all! I don't give my animals people food. One of the jobs I had in Kentucky was at a vitamin manufacturing plant for animal food. There is good reason why specific foods are made for our animals. They don't have the same digestive systems as humans, so you aren't doing them any big favors or giving them special treats by giving them food for humans. I'm just sayin'.....I suspect she wasn't feeling well since she had never had people food, and was wore out from the other two dogs she spent the night with. Anyway, she is back home where she is safe and very much loved!
While she went back to sleep, I was able to get quite a bit done on the sock and am so pleased with it!!!
I know I said this would be a quickie, but I have to mention something else. If you like listening to podcasts, and I may have told you about this one before, have a listen to The Knit Wits. I spent the morning while knitting, listening to their latest episode and laughing out loud! They are a husband and wife team...she is a homeschooler, knitter, spinner, and crocheter...he is a professional voice over and is in radio, so he has that broadcaster's voice, which in my opinion, is very pleasant to listen to. You can either listen to them on iTunes, or I believe from their website
http://www.knitwitspodcast.blogspot.com/ Carin is also thriftyknitter on Ravelry, and they also have a group there called The Knit Wits Podcast. Check 'em out...I'm glad I did!
