Six days ago, I noticed Jared Flood had a new blog post, the first in two weeks, so I thought I would read it and see what has been going on in his world. What a pleasant surprise it was to see he was introducing us to his new line of 100% American Wool...Shelter. What a gorgeous palette too!! If you haven't yet seen this, and love knitting and wearing beautiful wools, check out his website
here. I couldn't hardly wait to place my first order with him and since I love how he leans more towards the more natural colors for his projects, I went with the colorway Nest. Here's my dilemma though....I had a project all picked out, ordered the appropriate amount of yarn, and it arrived yesterday! I told myself I would remember the name of the project I wanted to use it for. Guess what? I can't remember!!! I have looked in my queue on Ravelry several times, and nothing is jogging my memory. I've decided if I can't remember before I am ready to use my new yarn, I'm going to order one more skein to knit his pattern called Terra. The next time I do this, I'm going to use my new iPhone and make note of it. Trust me, this gorgeous wool will not go to waste, and I will have a full review for you once I get to knit it up. Something tells me, it's going to be like heaven!

Yesterday, while spending a little time at a not so LYS, I came across THE perfect yarn for a pretty little crocheted scarf I had been waiting to re-start for
quite some time now about a year when I first saw it in Crochet Today! Sept/Oct. 2009 issue. I chose a very rich teal color called Mallard in Elsebeth Lavold's Silky Wool. Just enough silk in there to give it a nice drape, wool for warmth, and a little nylon for strength...perrrrrfect! I started my scarf this morning and only have about 15 more rows to go before I add the edging, which is a picot trim. How's that for a speedy little mindless pattern!?!? It only took me two cups of coffee to reach about 90% completion! This piece will join my growing accessory wardrobe and I'm thinking about purchasing some more of this lovely yarn to crochet the perfect little cloche I have in mind to go with it.
The weather has turned to almost near perfect fall temps....very cool and chilly in the morning and evenings, and the afternoons aren't even reaching into the 80's. I can see my trendy little triangular scarf getting plenty of use very soon!!
hum..I think you said you were going to knit something for Toni with the Shelter yarn.... does that ring a bell.. ha ha ha
