Housebound and wound

I stayed in all day today and I gotta tell ya, it actually felt pretty darn good, since I've been on the go for a week now! While I didn't get as much done as I would've liked, I'm still feeling a sense of accomplishment tonight. Grayson's little sweater is coming along nicely as I finished the bottom ribbing and the neckband today. Next up will be the sleeves, then the front bands, sewing on some buttons, and it will be complete. I took a break in between to look at new patterns on Ravelry, catch up on some podcasts, and wind some yarn that I needed to get put away. The first skein in the pic above is the Malabrigo I purchased yesterday. The second one on my swift below is from Pagewood Farms and is Blueface Leicester/nylon blend (80/20) in a fingering weight. The colorway is called Army Girl, which is different shades of blues, greens, purples, and maybe a little pink.
One of my favorites to knit socks from used to be Cherry Tree Hill, but after the aggravation I got today, I'm not sure anymore. The hank was poorly wound with numerous tangles in it, as well as a frayed section. What should've only taken me five minutes max to wind, ended up taking me 45 minutes! I managed to get three skeins wound though, so all in all, it turned out okay. The CTH skein isn't in a pretty little cake, more round if anything, but hey, it's still going to turn out a very pretty pair of green socks!

It was very nice to read on CoggieTM's (High Fiber Diet) board today that she has reached her goal, with possibly several hats leftover that her husband will be able to give to some of the enlistees of other branches of service that are next to his unit.

We are having some beautiful weather here in northern California. I sat out on the patio for a little bit today soaking up a little sun and playing fetch with Maggie. Wherever you are, I hope you're enjoying some nice mid-fall weather as well!

  1. It's November and it's 96 degrees outside? Where is fall? Fabulous yarns! Take care!
