A sense of..

accomplishment. That's what I felt this past week as I finished the knitting of three different projects! It's also the first time I attended Stitches West, purchased yarn and a pattern for it, and had it knitted up within a month of going. It's called Shoulder Scarf and is by Fiesta Yarns. I love this piece as it can be worn so many different ways! While the yarn is rayon with metallic in it, and is a bit fiddly to work with on size 15 (US) needles, it's fast and is an easy pattern that turns out beautifully. These pictures don't do it justice, and I haven't blocked it yet, but you get the idea...

I also completed my grandson's little cardigan he had requested this past winter..finally! For some reason, I had a hard time getting past the yellow color he wanted it in, but in the end, I think it's quite adorable on him! He is very pleased with it as well...

Back in 2011, I was gifted the pattern called Colfax Shawl, along with the exact yarn her sample was knitted from, by Angela Tong. I loved everything about it, but it went on the back burner when my mother became ill and needed my help. Subsequently, my mother passed away, and I lost interest in a lot of things. It wasn't fair, but that's the way it goes sometimes. A couple of weeks ago, I remembered that beautiful green shawl, and went looking for it. It is now finished, needs a bath and blocked, and better pictures taken to show off Angela's lovely design. It is knit from Zitron Lifestyle in #59 Grass, which is a 100% merino sport weight yarn. I enjoyed knitting with this yarn so much, that I'm considering possibly knitting a cardigan for my daughter out of it!!

Once I finished this shawl, I immediately cast on for another project. I will have to take some in progress pictures so I can show you. I'll give you a hint though...it's a Stephen West design. My first!

I stayed up late tonight to blog (midnight with a case of insomnia), but I'm now feeling like I should wait before I go any further. So, having said that, I will say goodnight, and wish you a wonderful week!!

Life does take us a while to bounce back from some of the zigs and zags. Hooray you are moving along your knitting path again.

    1. Thank you so much Shirley! My mother's death took the wind out of my sails for sure, but it's wonderful to be back in full swing again. I am enjoying my knitting and spinning immensely!! :)
