A brief interruption

Since I had been spending so much time with my grandkids, while my daughter and her husband got moved into their new home, a lot of things in my own home went on hold. Not that I minded at all, but this is the month I like to do some deep cleaning, as well as clearing out closets, etc. Usually, on Tuesdays I enjoy going to my afternoon knitting group, but I've decided to skip today (for the first time in many months) to take care of things that I know I will obssess about until it's done. I'm just kind of funny like that.

Thursday, April 10, 2014 ~ The above was obviously written two days ago, and I never got to finish. I ended up taking a brief ride in an ambulance to the hospital. While writing the above draft, I became very ill and couldn't finish. I called my daughter to come take me to the hospital, and on our way, we discovered I couldn't make it in the car, so she spotted an ambulance sitting in a parking lot near our house(s). She called my husband who was out on a job, and he came home as quickly as he could. I was so nauseous, so the paramedic immediately started an IV for that, and I was so thankful. Once at the hospital, we learned that I possibly have Meniere's Disease, which basically, is an inflammation of the inner ear. I will see a specialist next week. Thankfully, it's not a life threatening illness/disease, and can be controlled with medication as needed. It's my understanding that there is even a surgery that can correct it. So, for the most part, a happy ending, and one that has me resting for a few days with some knitting, puppy cuddling, and some tv watching. It's all good!

I haven't done any knitting yet, mostly just sleeping off the meds I was given. My sweet husband is calling my massage therapist today to get me an appointment, which will be lovely!! Until then, I plan to gather up my knitting, and retire to my lawn swing in our backyard. I love the serenity and peacefulness I find there.

Last night, we had to skip my grandson's baseball game, for obvious reasons, and I hated that. I hadn't missed a game yet...I love going and watching his games!! His paternal grandparents were very concerned about where I was, so my daughter explained to them what had happened. They have become good friends, and I appreciated their genuine well wishes. They are good people!!

It still doesn't look like much, but I am determined to turn this skein of linen into the Kennedy Wrap, an excellent spring/summertime poncho. I did have to frog back a row when a yarn over got away from me somehow, but I'm not going to stress over a row. That is easily and quickly fixed and I'm on my way again, so I'm hoping I will have a lot more to show you in my next post.

Stay well my friends, and until next time "Keep Calm and Knit On!"
