Graduation + BBQ = Pool Party!

We made it to my dear friend's birthday/graduation party for her oldest grandson today, and we couldn't have asked for nicer weather! Rosemary and her family moved from Lincoln, CA, closer to the east bay area several months ago, and this was the first time I got to see her new home. It's beautiful, and very large, but her and her husband are buying another home eight houses down and leaving her daughter-in-law and her fiance with all of their kids (long story) in the big house. This home is two story and Ro and her husband want their own single story space. With five kids, I don't blame them!
The party was a lot of fun, and it was so nice to see all of the family that I've known since I was 15. Just as I was taking this picture of Ro, she moved in between her brother and daughter-in-law. Darn! lol

I snapped a pic of the pool when everyone got out to eat bbq...not much to see in this photo, but the water was very inviting!

Meet Molly...Rosemary's fur baby. She's as passionate about her pup as I am about mine! Molly is absolutely adorable..she's a six pound Maltese/Poodle mix and is a little sweetheart. It was all I could do to keep from sneaking her into my bag to bring home with me!

Really? You thought I would go somewhere without my knitting?! Didn't happen, and in fact, there was a gentleman there that just moved here from Las Vegas that crochets! He was very interested in what I was doing. In talking with him about it, I got carried away and forgot to start ribbing on the cuff of my new "Pool Party" socks. Thank goodness I only need to back out two rounds and I'll be on my way. These are going to be plain vanilla socks, but I want to challenge myself and do a different heel this time. Jasmin and Gigi of the Knitmore Girls Podcast, are always talking about how much they love the afterthought heel, so I'm going to give it a go. I'll keep you updated...

It just made sense when I got my pedicure yesterday to have this color of polish put on. It's called Pool Party, by China Glaze, and it's my favorite summer color to wear on my toes! In real life, it's very neon, and pops against a tan..too fun!!

This is one tired woman after such a full day of celebrating another graduate!

And yes, I did have some of this...(YUM YUM!!!)
And no, I did not drive afterwards!!!
