Doodles in our future

Today was the longest day yet. Two grandchildren graduating from their respective grades, I took the two little guys out to lunch, and then brought all four of them back to my house to swim today for the afternoon before heading out for knit night. It was also one of the best days yet. I love being an active grandmother, and I promised my 11 year old grandson that I would spend the day just with him tomorrow (it's been a while since we've done that); we would do something together without his siblings tagging along. I saw a great idea on another blog this morning about doodling, and besides baseball, anything artsy is a win win with my grandson. I mentioned a little bit about it to him, and he is pretty excited. It will be another great day, for sure!

The red row of stitches at the top closest to my needles is my waste yarn.

Somehow, in between the busyness of my day, I found time to put in my waste yarn for the afterthought heel sock I'm working on. I'm pretty jazzed about these socks, but I think I've already mentioned that...a time or two.

It's been a very long day (as stated above), so this is going to have to be one of those quickie posts so I don't end up with keyboard imprints on my forehead. More later....(and I'll try to remember to tell you the significance of banana splits in my family).
