Woot woot, rah rah!

Everyday since putting up our pool, the grandkids have asked non-stop if they could go swimming. We had many go arounds about how I needed to get the water balanced, so they learned about chemicals, and then I kept telling them the water was too cold yet. The little guys kept insisting it wasn't too cold for them, and soon, it became a back and forth thing..."yes it is", "no it's not", you get the idea. They finally stopped asking and today I surprised them with a "hey, let's go swimming today!" My daughter brought the three boys over, ages 11, 5, and 4, and her daughter stayed after school today for an extra curriculer project.
The water was freezing cold, and they found out what I meant when I kept trying to tell them. They played for a good half hour in it though, and the little guys had so much fun! That's the biggest pool they have ever been in so far. Soon, their little teeth were chattering and they were getting purple lips, so it was time to get out and dry off. Nana's always got snacks for them, so while they were sitting in the warm sun to dry off, they had some pretzel thins and juices. I had so much fun with them today, and am looking forward to some more summertime fun!!

While the kids splashed and played, I worked on my sock, and have surprised myself how much I've gotten done just since last night. They are working up really fast, so I might try to put in the afterthought heel myself and see how it goes. I haven't really done much knitting on my other projects, but it's ok, I will get back to them very soon. These colors makes me so happy, which makes these socks very hard to put down!!!

While I was writing this post, I found out that my 13 year old granddaughter and her best friend made the cheer squad for their middle school next year. We are beyond excited for them!! These are two very good girls and they deserve it!!! I got the phone call inviting me for a dinner celebration...main course: banana splits! (I'll explain the significance of that in another post).

    1. Kids are so funny that way! The youngest one says to me, "nana, can't you move the pool?" lol Little guy has no concept of what it would take.
