How convenient

For the past couple of years when I went to Stitches West, I would pick up a ChiaoGoo needle here and there. Mostly for a project I would want to get started on while there, and of course, I failed to bring the right size with me. I should have just gone ahead and purchased an entire set each year I was there, but at the time, I already had my KnitPicks Harmonys that my sweet hubby bought for me one year for my birthday. I actually have that set as well as the Sunstruck set (I think that's what KP calls the lighter set), and both of them have served their purpose well. Here's my issue with them though...they start at a US size 4 and go to 11. I don't want to have to keep buying individual needles that aren't in either set, and store them individually. I want my needles, every size I may need, all together in one convenient place. The ChiaoGoo Twist Interchangeables complete set go from US size 2 up to a 15. I love the cables with these too...no kinks, no tangles, just straight no matter how you store them! The joins are smooth, the tips are sharp, and I absolutely LOVE the little bag to keep them in. No more guessing on which size is which without pulling out my sizer...it's clearly marked on each little pocket, as well as each tip. The set comes with really cute stitch markers, a ruler....oh ChiaoGoo, you have captured my heart!!

This past week, I have actually finished a couple of projects....wait, not "finished", but all of the knitting is done on my L'Enveloppe by Sally Melville. That was the most interesting construction I think I have ever knitted!! All I have left to do is seam up for the right arm, and I may block the left arm piece before I take finished photos. It's hard to tell from this photo, but no, it's not half a sweater!

I went to the Tuesday afternoon knit group I belong to today, and wasn't sure what I would take to work on. Then I remembered my brother-in-law's birthday socks I started...oooohhhh....not sure when, but decided it was high time I get them finished. I already have one sock done....

Since I completed the SW BFL from Bee Mice Elf in the Violet Supernova colorway, and my hubby noticed my bobbins were empty, he promptly put my wheel up on the kitchen table and proceeded to clean it and oil it for me. I'm one lucky lady to have such an attentive husband!! Once it was done being serviced, I immediately set it up to spin some Wensleydale from Lisa Souza, in the colorway Forbidden City. This is my first time spinning this fiber, and while it's probably the easiest I have spun to date, I'm not sure I'm liking the scratch factor and the fuzziness. I'm hoping someone will tell me it will soften up in the wash? Other than that, the color is gorgeous, as all of Lisa's colors are!!

Five years ago today, my daughter gave birth to the most wonderful, precious baby boy! I am so blessed to call this active, vibrant, charismatic little guy "grandson". On Sunday, my daughter had a birthday party for him in our town square that has a "splash park". The kids absolutely love it and it was the perfect place to have a party...very convenient, shade umbrellas with tables and chairs, restrooms, and up close parking, plus there weren't a lot of people there!
