It's a wrap

Nothing brings me more joy than to see my grandchildren reading...so much so, that I have always tried to read the same books they are reading. My oldest grandson and I read almost all of the Harry Potter books together, and it's so fun to be able to discuss with them what they read. This morning, on the way to school, my 8th grade granddaughter informed me she just finished the Diary of Anne Frank in her English class. Of course, I have read this many times, so we talked about it and what it must have been like being a Jew in that era. The next book she will be starting is Flowers for Algernon, by Daniel Keyes, which I've never read, but told her I would pick it up today. She got out of the car with a big smile on her face, and I drove away with one! I'm really looking forward to reading this with her!!

Chris pulled some very interesting rocks out of his tumbler/polisher last night, that he has been working on all month. They are absolutely stunning and there are several that I will definitely be wrapping, but I would like to wait and learn some different techniques. Maybe I'll look into a Craftsy class! I failed to get pictures of them, but promise I will share soon when I do.

See these socks? I can't believe I've had them on my needles since August!!! That's what happens when life gets in the way of your knitting. I finally finished them this morning though, and I couldn't be more thrilled with them!! They feel so luxurious on and I love the colors!! The fact that the stripes are perfectly matched is a plus, because that isn't something that I really put that much effort into. I've nearly finished my sister's also...just have the heel left to do on the second sock. That's a record for me...I have only been working on hers for about ten days.

Just when I thought I would be spinning every day for at least 15 minutes...it might not happen for a while. Yesterday, I broke my baby toe on my right foot, and it was painful just to get those socks on for the pics. Thank goodness our temps are warm for this time of year, so a pair of flip flops will be the norm for a few days for me.

Tomorrow, I hope to write more about the mystery KAL with Jimmy Beans Wool that I've started..take care and have a wonderfully blessed day!!
